Dr. Kister was raised in Worland, Wyoming. He attended the University of Wyoming and graduated in 1976 from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon where he received his optometry degree. After graduating from optometry school he served as an optometrist in the United States Navy at Camp Pendleton in California for two years. In 1978, he returned to Wyoming to practice optometry in Riverton. He has provided quality eye care for the residents of Fremont County for over 30 years.
 
Dr. Kister is a member of the American Optometric Association, and the Wyoming Optometric Association and is a past president of the WOA. In addition, he is actively involved in the Riverton community and Rotary International. Dr. Kister loves working with each of his patients and is eager to help you and your family achieve the best possible eye health and visual excellence.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
  
 
 
Kister Eyecare is pleased to welcome Dr. Derek Walton to our practice. Dr. Walton is a new optometrist, graduating from the Southern California College of Optometry magna cum laude in May of 2011. He has been well trained in the areas of primary care, contact lenses, ocular disease, and pediatrics and enjoys working with patients of all ages. Dr. Walton was raised in Riverton and graduated from Riverton High School in 2000.
 
He went on to pursue an Associate Degree in Business Management at Ricks College (currently Brigham Young University, Idaho) in Rexburg, ID and a Bachelor Degree in Biology at the University of Wyoming before entering optometry school. Dr. Walton is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and Wyoming Optometric Association. He also volunteers for the Boy Scouts of America and enjoys sports, being in Wyoming's outdoors, and spending time with his family.
 
 
  
 
 
 
  
 
Robyn is certified with the American Board of Opticianry and the National Contact Lens Examiners. She is a Riverton native and has been with the practice since 2006 but has nine years of total optical experience. Charlene moved to Riverton and joined our team in 2010. She has two previous years of experience working in the eye care industry. A native of Washington state, she loves the friendly people and great outdoors of Wyoming.
